Lipsticks are definitely my least favorite makeup product. I always go for the most comfortable to wear and stick to the same shades, namely pinks and nudes. A while ago, I decided to expand my color range through Essence lipsticks. And at their very affordable price, I couldn’t expect better opportunity to treat myself a lil' something from everything.

The lipsticks are super creamy and hydrating with an impressive pigmentation. They literally feel like nothing and the best of all; they aren’t drying the lips. The longevity though is not as great as I would love; they only last 3-4 hours max before needing to reapply.  

To start off, I picked the sheer and shine lipsticks in shades 03BFF which is a berry rose and 11 All About Cupcake that is a pretty light natural pink, which are perfect for a ‘no makeup’ makeup look being sheer with a hint of shine and color.

For the nudes’ part, I chose the long lasting lipstick in 11Nude Love which I love. It is a pretty light nude with a slight pink undertone.  And my second is the long lastinglipstick nude in 05 Cool Nude which is a brown pink color that’s very appropriate for most days and on most skin tones.

In the bright aisle of this collection, three lovely shades came into my grasps. The first one being the 13 Love Me, a wonderful pink that’s certainly one of those shades that you would pick, swipe on your lips and you’re ready to go. Next is 07 Natural Beauty which is a gorgeous nude pink that falls somewhere in the middle of nude and bright pink and again it’s great for everyday wear. And then I got the 12 Blush My Lips. A vibrant fuchsia that adds a color pop to the face during summer and spring times.

Lastly we reach the red section and I got in here two items. My first is the 04 On The Catwalk! which is not my favorite. It is a berry toned shade that I believe is more suitable for medium-deep complexions. And finally, the 18 Matt Wanted! Though it’s a very new shade to my stash but I’m in love with. It’s a deep red wine color that’s a clear goal for fall season.

I can’t stress enough how lightweight and moisturizing the Essence lipsticks are. Another thing that’s worth mentioning is the color payoff that is insane therefore, FOR NOW, I don’t mind, the low quality in terms of staying power notably that I’m not a lipstick guru.

2016 went crazily fast and during this year, I tried so many products and since it is December, my favorite month, I wanted to post a roundup of my favorite products of this year, mainly makeup ones. I preferred to mention the products in accordance with my order of application. Without further ado, I will be talking about base products; namely primers and concealers.

Sunscreen is always my first step that I never missed even in winter time. For years, I’ve been using my trusty La Roche PosayAnthelios XL 50+ spf. It’s a light, paraben free and non-perfumed sunblock that prevent sunspot and age spots.

For primers, my first is technically a skin care product. In other words, it’s a tinted moisturizer, namely the La Roche PosayEffaclar Duo (+) Unifiant that I picked while in Paris. Check my haul here and here. It is one of those clever products that fall in the midst of skin care and makeup that works on unifying the skin and correcting the marks.

The l’oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream is one of those late discoveries of mine. However, when I tried it, I loved it. Though I’m not a silicon base product lover, I figured that this one works perfectly underneath my powder foundation without feeling on the top of my skin like most of silicon base primers.

My second product category is concealers and I’ve got to admit is my second favorite beauty product after bronzers. I will start with a staple one; the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. It is long wearing with a creamy liquid consistency and offers medium to full coverage.

My second under eye concealer is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, which I believe is a great one for a drugstore. Though its thin consistency that doesn’t settle into the fine line, it gives good coverage and impressive staying power.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is again another staple with a lot of hype but it’s for a reason. It’s a lightweight concealer with a medium coverage and creamy velvety texture. The product brightens up the under-eye area without accentuating the fine lines.

Last but not least is the Mac Prep and Prime Highlighter. It is a beautiful concealer that I particularly like to use along with my Mac Pro Long Wear. It is lightweight yet creamy with a good pigmentation and doesn’t crease.

This is my first part of the base products and I will shortly be back with the second part that covers foundations and setting powders.

Two months back the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush Palette was a part of my Summer Highlighter Picks post and it is one of the favorite highlighter palettes among bloggers community. Today I’m not coming with a full review on this one but I’m sharing my thoughts on the all new Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette. Let’s check it out!

Naturally some shades will stand out for some skin tones better than others but of course what might not work as blush, bronzer or highlighter could certainly be used as an eyeshadow and for that the bottom two shades (7,8) from the right will serve me that purpose.

My favorite shades are the top right matte (4) which is a great bronzer for warming up most skin tones but maybe not the dark ones, the pink shades (1) with mauve undertones and (6) a shimmer pink that are perfect blushes that add a lovely flush and lastly the highlighters (2,3,5) that vary from peach, golden champagne and a rose gold which I find stunning and believe me that’s quite weird coming from someone who’s not into highlighters at all.

Honestly there is no way to fault Makeup Revolution on this palette, or most of their products. It a gorgeous palette that’s great for travelling with a remarkable pigmentation that provides a dewy finish and a good longevity too!! As for which one of the blush palettes I prefer, I believe the original one is suited for all year round while the Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold is more appropriate for summer time.

The Lash Sensational was one of Maybelline’s well-loved in the beauty community so when I spotted the Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara I had to have it… Technically it promises the same fan effect as the original one using oil based formula for supple and nourished lashes.

The packaging is absolutely attractive; black matte packaging with pink accents and the wand is sort of different in shape from all mascaras I own; it is called a “fanning reservoir Brush” with short bristles and deep gabs that arouse the product from the roots. The formula was the main reason why I wanted to give the Luscious Lash Sensational a go, as it’s infused with precious oils for healthy lashes.  In fact it is pretty wet but dries out quickly adding volume and length for that natural “fanned out” and soft lashes without smudging or clumping.

The Maybelline Luscious Lash Sensational Mascara is definitely a keeper! Though I wasn’t a fan of it when I just got it, I find it creeping into my everyday makeup slowly and I’ve got to say I started to like it. My lashes for a fact remain soft all day and a bit dramatic with only one coat.

As I’m constantly trying out different products, though I don’t think I’m using as many as most of other bloggers, my skin care routine keep on changing. Hence, I decided to go for a “New in” series to highlight all of my newest products.

In this first post, I want to spotlight two products that I’m totally hooked on and I wonder why it took me too long to discover them. Anyway, today I’ll be talking about the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum and Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot.

I got the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum in a subscription box last year and since then it’s been in my skin care drawer and don’t ask me why. I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers and serums throughout the years to find an end to one of my main skin concerns; dehydration and nothing seemed to be efficient the way the Bioderma one did. It is a fresh smelling gel that’s weightless and absorbs beautifully with no shine or greasiness. It works great on providing pure hydration leaving the skin plumped and supple. I’ve noticed a remarkable difference in my skin since the first week of use and believe I’m not exaggerating here. Another additional bonus of this serum is its clean and hygienic packaging. The Bioderma Hydrabio Serum assuredly got a permanent spot in my skin care shelf. I just love the results; my skin never felt the same in such a long time.

My second addition to my skin care is The Vichy Normaderm Hyaluspot, which I got last month as a remedy for my second main concern; scars and hyper pigmentation, to find out that it actually targets appearing or existing blemishes.  Thank god, I experience those only in that time of the month and I still can’t stand it. Vichy promises results after 48 hours from application. You might be saying Ok whatever but this little one, despite its pricey tag, works as claimed and the best of all, the blemish doesn’t leave a scar. I call it a skin care gem!! It comes in a form of odorless gel housed in a hygienic small plastic tube with a metal applicator to apply it directly on the blemish. The zit does not fade away immediately however it looks less inflamed and by the end of the second day, the pimple retracts and I’ve even test it out on a bump that was growing under the skin and I was impressed how it never emerged on top. I usually use it at night as like most of the spot treatments it dries out forming a film on the pimple. Considering the results I’m alright with that. I’m really happy to have this overnight pimple magical treatment stashed in my skin care.

Both products are very efficient and provide great results to the skin. They are certainly a must-try!!

After I ran out of my Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins, which I really loved, I was looking for a new moisturizer; as I like to try new products from time to time and that’s when I decided to go for L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Cream which I got as a gift from my husband for my birthday along with a lot of other goodies.

The Pivoine Sublime range is formulated with peony extract for an intense hydration and an even skin tone. Suitable for all skin types, the perfecting cream aims a fresh and perfect looking skin through refining the pore, fine lines and complexion.

The packaging is so beautiful and classy; a pretty red pink pot which would certainly be a cute on the top of any vanity. The ingredients of this cream are the best part being all naturally derived with no parabens just like all L’Occitane products but that’s not all. The smell is simply divine; I would describe it as freshly cut flowers; peonies of course.  

I chose to use the L’Occitane Perfecting Cream as a night cream for 5 to 6 weeks now and I’m in love with the texture that lies between a gel and a cream making it a perfect treat for hot summer nights. In fact it is so refreshing and leaves the skin so supple and velvety with an immediate radiance boost. However, it could easily be used as a day moisturizer or a primer.

Though I’ve been applying this cream only in evenings, I’ve noticed a difference in my skin. It is definitely smoother, radiant and fresh. However I won’t say it’s a must have product but it’s a lovely delicacy for pampering the skin once in a while.

Six months back I picked the Makeup Revolution Iconic Blush Bronze & Brighten Palette in shade “Flush” to use it when I travel but somehow I totally forgot about it until I got the other three shades; Golden Hot, Rave and Smoulder, as free items in my recent haul and I thought that it’s the best time for reviewing these little gems .. So let’s jump into it!

The four palettes come in the usual simple and slim glossy black packaging of Makeup Revolution with a good sized mirror, which makes them really compact and perfect for travelling or simply carrying in your makeup bag.

All the three powders are well pigmented; it provide just the right amount of product for a subtle glow and which could easily be build up for more color pay off. The staying power for a fact is not bad even in summer days; the blush, bronzer and highlighter stay around 5 to 6 hours.

Texture wise, I will be talking about each powder separately and I will start with the blush that has a creamy to powder texture with a matte finish which make its blending effortless and beautiful. The bronzer has a similar texture of the blush without being too matte and does amazing job in warming up the skin and giving a healthy glow. It could also be used to contour if layered without being muddy. Finally the highlighter! This one is simply stunning. It is not overly glittered to make you feel like a disco ball but it adds just the perfect natural and gorgeous sheen to the face.

“Flush” contains a peachy-pinky blush, light neutral bronzer with orange undertones and a honey toned highlighter.

“Rave” contains a classy coral blush, light golden bronzer and a champagne highlighter.

“Smoulder” has a bright pink blush, mid toned bronzer and a pearly white highlighter.

“Golden Hot” being the warmest of all 4 palettes comes with a lovely bronzy color with gold shimmers as a bronzer, a neutral pink color as blush and the highlighter is a beautiful rose gold shade.

Beyond any doubt, I like these palettes; they are a must have in your makeup bag for an everyday use. I love the idea of having a handy multi-purpose product, as I could easily use the bronzer and the highlighter as eyeshadows and I would save with that a lot of time and space when I am on the move. The quality is lovely and the colours set are so versatile that there’s a shade for everyone. Give it a try and you won’t regret it!!!

Following on my post about the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Palette, I figured out it won’t take long before my next makeup revolution review takes place. For instance, I will talk about the sister palette, hence, the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette. Let’s take a look!

I’ve got to say that there are a lot of similarities in here between the two palettes. The quality of casing is the same as the Pro 1, which adds a luxurious feel and definitely doesn’t match the bargain price. A double sided brush is included in here, which I actually don’t mind using for a simple eye look since it gets the job done, along with a huge mirror.

Just like its sister, the Iconic Pro 2 contains 16 gorgeous shades, each housed in a large pan. The colors vary between neutral, earthy and pearly tones making it a great choice for everyday wear. The formula is creamy, highly pigmented, apply effortlessly and the staying power is just impressive. Simply fabulous!

I’m really glad I got this palette, it’s definitely a must own especially at its price, quality and range of the colours. I’m impressed. Simply it’s just another incredible Makeup Revolution Palette.

Since last December I officially included anti-aging products to my skin care routine. A bit late for thirty something age, but as they say, it’s never late to do good. I don’t have any wrinkles though but I definitely started to notice few fine lines around my eyes and forehead.  My policy is clear and simple: Natural alternatives to any chemical stuff. Origins answers these type of appeals. For my eveningskin care routine, I used many products from them and today I will be reviewing the Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Serum.

The Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Serum is made of 20 natural powerful plants. The Anogeissus is the main active ingredient along with crithmum, bamboo and pea. You can also check the complete ingredient list here. This serum is to reduce visible aging signs; fine lines and wrinkles mainly, to lift, firm and smooth the skin.

It has a gel like consistency that sinks easily into the skin, with a citrus smell that is quiet pleasant to me without leaving any oily or tacky residue. I’ve been using it for more than two months and my skin feels plump and soft with an addition of a radiant glow. Much better, I even noticed that my fine lines are less noticeable and my skin texture has improved particularly my sun spots.

The Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Serum has definitely took my skin to a complete new level. This serum doesn’t come cheap but I’ve got to say that it does what it claims and it did last the whole winter season for me, so I guess that it’s not too bad for an investment. I certainly recommend the Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Power Serum.
